In spite of the sexual revolution that has started not that long ago and continues till our days, women’s sexuality it is still a slightly delicate theme, especially when it goes about using it for selfish ends.

There are lots of arguments both pro and against the usage of sexuality by women in pursuing their personal purposes – say getting a post they want. Some men usually tend to be against this, as well as many conservative women. The most interesting and strong argument of women who consider using their sexiness for purpose to be a normal thing is – if men can use their physical strength, then why can’t women use their sexiness? Indeed, why not?

But this is more of a confrontation between traditionalist women and women who fight for women’s rights, not between the two sexes. Keeping to one of the two opposite points of view is not a very good idea, because radical points of view always suggest radical means. Neither being a mercenary who is ready to do anything for their profit nor denying all the expressions of women sexiness is good.

There are also women who accept their sexiness and use it when they want, but do not accept it as a means of making a career. They say that every thing has its time and place, and that mixing your public life and sexuality is unacceptable.

How can this divergence be explained? Many factors are to be taken into account. The most considerable factor is perhaps the upbringing of women. No one chooses their family, but the family chooses what to teach their children. There are some conservative families in which television is still a not accepted phenomenon, which is neither good nor bad. But in general the younger generation is much more light-minded concerning such issues. It could be because they are more influenced by the mass media where sex is propagated literally or figuratively every now and then. It is no longer a taboo. It’s no wonder that young girls are now proud of possessing one of the most dangerous weapons in the world – sexiness, and using it. But to tell that this is bad and wrong would be to become similar to a dumb and blind fool. Everything is about change, and we should accept it as another change.

The golden mean has always been the best compromise in everything, and this issue is not an exception. Healthy expression of women’s sexiness can’t be considered wrong. How can you imagine a sophisticated and successful woman who has never taken an advantage of her own sexuality? When used within reasonable limits, it will never be called something vulgar or obscene.
