Ten Qualities Of A Great Leader - Plus 1
A leader’s success is dependent not so much on what they do, but more as to who they are. This article looks at the qualities of good leadership, that create great leaders.
Great Leaders are optimists first and foremost. Their tendency is to interact according to Henry Ford’s observation, “whether you think you can or think you can’t - you are right.” Because the buck must stop somewhere and because the dynamic of authority dictates that all delegated authorities are themselves subject to authority, they understand that being a leader is far more than a title. The ten qualities listed herein are based on these assumptions and are just the beginning of developing the character of a great leader. Here’s to a great beginning!

Why Does Leadership Matter?
Parents universally hope that their children develop leadership qualities. They know that leaders are people who are effective in what they do, are respected by others, and typically rewarded for those skills in a variety of ways. It is in these formative years that, through our parents, we first see leadership as desirable and important.
As young people we look up to people around us that motivate and listen to us; people that seem like “real-life” heroes. We consider these people leaders.

The mnemonic is “L.E.A.D.E.R.S” and each of these letters represents an essential step. While I have simplified the elements of leadership into seven words, the essence of my message is that being an effective, peak-performance work leader is simple, but not easy.

What makes a good leader? It is the leadership qualities that the leader possesses. It is good leadership qualities and skills that team members see and respect, that will motivate them to work together as a team.
To be a good leader means that you can inspire others to follow your example, willingly and cheerfully. A good leader will both inspire confidence and give a strong example of what we should aim for. These are the characteristics of a
good leader.
